Holiday Message 2008
Dearest friends and family,
Very early on this chilly morning I was thinking about what
this time of year means to me. I remember the Christmas
Season in Holland when Sinter Klaas would come down our
street on December 5th riding a beautiful white stallion,
would stop and knock on our door, and then put candy in our
wooden shoes if my two brothers and I had been good little
children all through the year.
After moving to the United States, we celebrated December
5th too. Sinter Klaas would deliver small gifts to our home.
Although we never saw him or his beautiful white stallion,
we did hear him knock at the door. We have continued this
tradition every year with our children who are now in their
40's and grandson who will be six . On Christmas Day I
recall family gatherings, my mother's fabulous cooking, much
of it Dutch food, and sitting by the Christmas tree opening
gifts and listening to Christmas music. Since my parent's
passing, I now take on the cooking roll with the aid of my
brothers and we always seem to take time to remember.
With Christmas fast approaching, I look at the many
twinkling lights outside our home and the hundreds of
twinkling lights on our half decorated Christmas tree. I
think about my life, the place where I am today and the work
that I do. I think of you, for you have touched my life in
some way and made it so meaningful and beautiful.
My wish for you this Holiday Season and into the New Year is
that the Angels wrap a cozy warm blanket of love around your
shoulders and watch over you every day.

A Personal Note...
Recently I purchased a book called Meditations to Heal Your
Life by Louise L. Hay. This morning I opened it up randomly
and there was the meditation "Giving and Receiving". I would
like to share this meditation with you.
"I joyously give to Life, and life lovingly gives to me".
"Appreciation and acceptance act like powerful magnets for
miracles every moment of the day. If somebody compliments
me, I smile and say thank you. Compliments are gifts of
prosperity. I have learned to accept graciously. Today is a
sacred gift from Life. I open my arms wide to receive the
full measure of prosperity that the Universe offers this
day. Any time of the day or night, I can let it in. I know
that there are times in life when the Universe gives to me,
and I am not in a position to do anything about giving back.
I can think of many people who really helped me so much at a
time when there was no way I could ever repay them. Later, I
have been able to help others, and that is the way life
goes. I relax and rejoice in the abundance that is here
right now".

Being of Service
Here is a list of few things that you can do not only during
this Holiday Season but also in the New Year. What you
lovingly do for others will come back to you ten thousand
fold.
***If you are an animal lover, donate some time to a local
animal shelter and give some love to those animals who have
yet to be adopted and find their forever-after-home.
You can also check with the shelter regarding any needs they
may have such as blankets, dishes/bowls, etc. or make a
monetary donation
***Give of your time to help feed the homeless at a local
shelter. Do it with your family...what you receive in return
is much more then you give.
***Give non-perishable items to a local food bank
***Remember those closets, others can use what you no longer
need
***Donate to a charity of your choice
***Donate your time by being a docent at a local park or
beach, they are always looking for volunteers
